Three of the 46 physicians from 16 countries who were newly elected to The International Atheroschlerosis Society are from Israel--and all are from Hadassah!

In a beautiful ceremony in the presence of Past Hadassah International President Nancy Falchuk, with Director of Nursing Orly Rotem-Picker presiding, three outstanding nurses received the award named for Mrs. Falchuk. They were: Muriel Appelbaum, Miriam Avraham, and Yulia Lerman. Created as a gift to Hadassah International's immediate past president with contributions from units around the world, the Nancy Falchuk Scholarship Award enables outstanding nurses to pursue advanced study, conduct research or give a presentation at an international conference.

Hadassah Mexico sent this beautiful card, together with a box of chocolates, to a large group of major donors during the Purim Holiday. Purim commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from an evil minister who sought their destruction. It is traditional during this holiday to send gifts of food to friends.
Inside, the card read:
Dear Family,
“May this Purim bring us the true happiness of peace, health, and sharing!”

(New York – March 15, 2007): Hadassah has received a gift of $75 million from William and Karen Davidson on behalf of Guardian Industries Corp. of Auburn Hills, Michigan, U.S.A. The contribution will be specifically used to support the new inpatient tower at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. In recognition of this gift, Hadassah will name the new facility the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower, to honor the memory of William Davidson’s mother, who was a founder of the organization’s Detroit, Michigan chapter.

Hadassah Germany’s Helga Guttmann, a long-time supporter of Israel, visited the Hadassah Medical Center in January, accompanied by her husband, Robert. During their visit, they conversed with Dr. Alex Avidan, a German-speaking physician in Hadassah’s Department of Anesthesiology.
